Ms. Kanae Ito And Mr. Atsushi Tamura Appear During The “Highlights Introduction Stage”!

The “Highlights Introduction Stage” is a stage that introduces the highlights of the “Gundam Build Divers Festival 2018” held at THE GUNDAM BASE TOKYO on July 20th (Fri). The festival itself is an event that will share and spread the charms of Gundam and Gunpla to be held starting from July 21st (Sat) inside DiverCity Tokyo Plaza in Odaiba, Tokyo.

Ms. Kanae Ito, voice of Nanami Nanase, and Mr. Atsushi Tamura, voice of Koichi Nanase, from Gundam Build Divers appeared as guests for the “Highlights Introduction Stage”. Along with introducing the charms of the festival, they also introduced the “Future Gunpla Research Special Project” and made the stage filled with various content. Without further ado, we’ll deliver a report on the event.

For the event, the two guests appeared wearing Haro-printed aprons worn by Nanami and Koichi. Ms. Ito commented, “I’m getting excited just by having this on,” while Mr. Tamura said, “Koichi wears a white shirt and black pants… so I also wore a similar outfit today,” and they both smiled at the fact that they looked similar to their characters.

When asked about their characters, Ms. Ito answered, “She’s always positive and I believe she’s like an energetic older sister.” Mr. Tamura answered, “He has some unreliable aspects about him, but I believe he’s a guy that really gets things done when necessary. Like helping Riku and the others in a crisis with his inherent knowledge and Gunpla operative skills.”

They were then asked about future developments in the series. Mr. Tamura commented, “There’s also some serious storylines, so I hope everyone looks forward to it,” while Ms. Ito said, “Nanami is gradually beginning to become interested in Gunpla, so I hope everyone looks forward to her role in the future.” The comments they left makes one curious about what happens next.

Once the topic moved to the Gundam Divers Festa, Mr. Tamura said, “My elevator is on the fifth floor, Rommel’s on the sixth, and Riku’s on the seventh,” and showed how much he was already enjoying himself. Ms. Ito said, “There are pillars with various colors and mobile suits on them, right? I hope everyone enjoys themselves when using the escalators, too.”

When asked about the “Life-Sized Unicorn Gundam Statue Walk-through 2018”, an event that is being held for the first time with the new statue, Mr. Tamura excitedly commented, “You get so overwhelmed by its huge size when you’re actually standing at its feet.” Ms. Ito also commented on the collaboration menu at GUNDAM Café Odaiba with a smile, “It would be great to go to the café together with your friends and share your food to enjoy all sorts of flavors.”

Next, the topic moved to the “Future Gunpla Research Special Project”. The “GUNPLA Battle Laboratory”, a project aiming for the realization of Gunpla Battles in, was then introduced.

The game began once the original Momokapool made by Ms. Ito was scanned to create its 3D data model. Ms. Ito tried battling with Momokapool while Mr. Tamura used 00 Diver. They excitedly gave their impressions of the project, saying, “The controls are simple and the buttons were easy to understand!” (Ito) and “It’s so interesting! I want to try it again with my Galbaldy Rebake!” (Tamura).

Lastly, the stage came to an end with comments from both guests.

Kanae Ito (Nanami Nanase)

“Seeing various things today and even being able to control a Gunpla I made like this, I kept on getting excited by how truly amazing it was to see the anime world becoming a reality. I definitely hope that people come to visit the event.”

Atsushi Tamura (Koichi Nanase)

“There are so many incredible Gunpla. I should’ve come sooner. There aren’t many places where you can actually experience the same things you find in an anime. Definitely please watch the anime and come to visit THE GUNDAM BASE TOKYO and the Gundam Divers Festa. I hope everyone enjoys the anime and building Gunpla even more by doing so. Thank you very much for today.”
